Discover Ivy Paradise: How a 1945 Legacy Grew into the World’s Largest Online Plant Shop

Welcome to the greenest corner of the internet! If you are a plant enthusiast, a seasoned gardener, or someone just starting their journey with nature, you have arrived at the perfect destination.

Today, Ivy Paradise proudly stands as the World’s Largest Online Plant Shop. But our roots go much deeper than the digital storefront you see today.

Our Roots: A Journey Since 1945 Our legacy is built on adaptation and resilience. The story traces back to 1945 in the serene village of Puliyur, Kerala. Our ancestors, Pottamel Kochu Cherukan (Kochusekaran) and his sons Karunakaran and Bhaskaran, founded a weaving mill. While modernization eventually halted the handloom industry, our family’s hardworking spirit never faded. We transitioned into agriculture and contracting, learning to grow and thrive despite the changing times.

Rising Through the Storms Decades later, under the leadership of Babu P. Bhaskar, the family ventured into the building materials business in 2003. It was a success, but the tides turned again. A succession of monumental challenges—including the 2017 demonetization, GST shifts, the historic 2018 Kerala floods, and the 2019 global pandemic—severely impacted the enterprise.

Yet, in 2020, a brilliant spark of innovation came from the next generation. Adithya Babu, a 17-year-old visionary, conceptualized a digital space for plant lovers: "ivyparadiseplant."

"We started Ivy Paradise with a commitment to nature. We assure you that this duty and responsibility will be present in our every action." — Adithya Babu (Founder)

Becoming the Global Leader in 2025 Driven by an immense passion for flora, Babu P. Bhaskar (Creator & Developer) and Sreeja Kolatteri (Editor-in-Chief) transformed this vision into a global reality. By 2025, Ivy Paradise achieved an unprecedented milestone. We successfully cataloged and made available the most extensive collection of live plants and botanical information on the internet.
